Martin Gustavsson (born 1966), associate professor of economic history, is a researcher at the Stockholm Centre for Research on the Public Sector (Score). He has previously written about the interplay between economics, politics and culture in his doctoral thesis Power and Artistic Taste. Social and Political Contradictions in the Swedish Art Market 1920–1960 (2002) and the chapters ‘Money, Politics and Audience’ in The History Book. Om Moderna Museet 1958–2008 (History Book: About the Moderna Museet 1958–2008) (2008) and ‘Klämd mellan stat och marknad’ (Caught between the state and the market) in Konstfrämjandet 70 år (70 Years of Art Promotion) (2017).
