The MDT Poster
“The MDT Poster” brings together a selection of around 700 poster variations produced for MDT, Moderna Dansteatern, over a period of ten years. Located on Skeppsholmen in central Stockholm, MDT presents and co-produces dance, choreography and performance, as well as festivals, talks and seminars. The poster series was commissioned by Danjel Andersson (director 2010–2019) as part of a broader system for graphic design and communication.
While the context around the posters changed over time, the poster format itself remained largely the same throughout the decade. This continuity established a stable visual identity for MDT, where even small variations within the format became noticeable.
The book is the first release in the publishing project “Grafisk Fyrkant”, an imprint of Null & Void Books. The project takes inspiration from the Danish association and publisher “Grafisk Cirkel” (1936–1979), whose publications were often produced in small formats and limited editions by and for graphic designers.
Like its predecessor, “Grafisk Fyrkant” examines how ideas are developed and communicated through printed matter.
Awarded “Swedish Book Art Award” 2021 and short-listed for “Best Book Design from all over the World” 2023.
