Edblom holds a master's degree in Contemporary Art Theory from Goldsmiths College in London and, in the early 2000s, she studied and worked in Cape Town, South Africa. In 2011, she was one of the curators for the Gothenburg International Biennial for Contemporary Art (GIBCA) and subsequently served as artistic director of the biennial until 2017.
